Badge Policy

Badge Requirement Overview

LiftOff launch badges are part of the attribution and discovery rules for qualifying launches. Users may use either one of the badges displayed here or any of the product's earned badges to represent LiftOff on their product's page.

Use one of the official LiftOff badge assets provided during the submit process or by LiftOff directly.

LiftOff may also issue separate proof or achievement badges for launches that place highly across day, week, or month rankings. Those earned badges are controlled by LiftOff and are not interchangeable with the standard launch badge requirement.

Mandatory Technical Requirements

• • Free plan launches must display a LiftOff launch badge. Featured, Boost, and All-in launches may display it optionally unless LiftOff states otherwise in writing.
• • The badge must appear on all publicly accessible pages of the launched website, ideally in the global footer so it stays visible everywhere.
• • The badge must link to LiftOff's web page using a normal crawlable do-follow link. Do not add rel="nofollow", rel="sponsored", or rel="ugc" to the badge link.
• • Use one of the official LiftOff badge assets only. Keep the badge legible, maintain its aspect ratio, and do not crop, blur, or materially alter it.
• • The badge must remain clearly visible. Do not hide it behind tabs, drawers, hover states, overlays, low-contrast backgrounds, or near-transparent styling.
• • Visual badge attribution is required where the badge is mandatory. Text-only attribution is not a substitute.

Restrictions

• Do not use LiftOff badges for products that were not launched on LiftOff.
• Do not imply editorial endorsement, partnership, ranking, or award status beyond what the badge itself communicates.
• Do not remove a mandatory badge after launch while still expecting the associated do-follow link benefit to remain valid.
• Do not create custom LiftOff badge variants, rewrites, remixes, or translated versions unless LiftOff approves them in writing.
• Do not self-assign earned proof badges. Day, week, month, featured, or other performance-based badges may only be issued by LiftOff.

Enforcement

LiftOff may request that you fix, replace, or restore a badge implementation that does not follow this policy. If a mandatory badge is missing, obscured, altered, or linked incorrectly, LiftOff may remove or decline the related do-follow link benefit and may take additional moderation action where needed.

Continued misuse of LiftOff badges, including unauthorized earned-badge claims or deliberate evasion of the badge requirement, may lead to removal of badge privileges, launch corrections, or other enforcement measures under the platform rules.
